ok, here is the 1st sentence of another problem: "Figure 5-36 shows four penguins that are being playfully pulled along very slippery ice by a curator." according to said figure, penguins are apparently about hte size of a human hand.

I've seen physics problems like that before. One of them involved a man who was running from a herd of buffalo; you had to figure out how long it would take him to reach safety. Turned out he wouldn't reach safety at all, he would be trampled by the buffalo first. Another question involved an astronaut falling towards the earth who, as it turned out, had a mass of something-on-the-order-of a million tons.
