Each of us is going to spend a whole lot more time being dead than being alive. Archimedes is supposed to have lived for 75 years, for example. That was supposedly more than 2000 years ago, so the poor chap has spent more than 96% of the time since he was born being dead. Some scientists think that the Universe is on the order of 10,000,000,000 years old, give or take a few years. Archimedes was dead for 99.99999925% of it. Think of everything he missed.

went to bed: 5:30am
fell asleep: approx 7am
dreamt of: going to temple with my family, and my dad played them a clip from nightmare on elm street, to illustrate a point about evil. all the old people in the congregation were very offended by the swearing in the movie and complained to the rabbi, who didn't give a crap
woke up: 3:15pm

i no longer get sleepy. eventually i just figure that i should probably go to bed, but i never FEEL like it's bedtime anymore (not that i don't get tired. it's just not the same thing)
