(no subject)

tomorrow i am going to the farm for the day, then bringing renny home, and hanging out with hart and cara. i was gonna get up earlyish so i coudl make it there for lunch, so naturally, i have stayed up talking, and reading sylvia plath, until i decided i should write my own poetry. i used to write tons of crappy poems in highschool and whatever, but it's been a long time since i felt the urge. i think these two (the second i wrote maybe a week ago) are the only ones i've written all summer (actually the only anything i've written all summer, which is a shame), if not all year. and they're both itty. i am incapable of writing long.

Your eyes earn me - my persistance,
one thousand days of dance, of this -
but your smile shines from a distance,
expecting snares; fear not, I am mist

and starlight, softly reflected
glimmers of warmth, and easily traveled.
I try to cohere, be collected,
but like hair, like nets, I'm safely unraveled.

you smile like glinting sunlight
off your skin's soft dawn
i can't help orbiting the singular
silent points your eyelids rest on
each tooth a column in a calendar shrine
words burn upon spheres, achingly not mine
this is the space you inhabit, velvet dark and soft
with holes cut for stars, peering, admiring, aloft
