paradise lost is frustrating to read. so many footnotes! and i can't skip them, because theyre THERE, and i see the little number and i just have to go to the bottom of the page and read it, but then i lose the flow of what i was reading and i have to go back. it's a slow process.

coach diagnosed my frequent foot cramp-feeling as tendonitis. the cure is, for a week, when i sleep, to wear a sweatsock over the afflicted foot with a bread bag tied over that. he also advised me to make sure my windows are wide open each morning before i take the bag off

NOOO IT'S STARTED AGAIN! remember last year, i kept finding bits of wood and nails on my floor? theyre back. i don't understand. i think my room is haunted (by nails and bits of wood, yes).

I HATE books with footnotes because I do the same thing.

even worse is endnotes. i hate flipping over to the end every 20 seconds. 'infinite jest' was a killer, because a lot of the endnotes went on for PAGES and werent even really related to what they were linked from, and they'd be referenced like 20 times thru the book

The Illuminatus! Trilogy was like that. But fun. Pratchett footnotes a lot, I wait and go back to them. Yes, I have footnote self-control! I am a freak among Wundeers! =)

Well, it has explainationy stuff at the end! And I think references a lot of pages in the book. So I was wrong. Sue me. =)

I actually thought about endnotes when you mentioned footnotes, but decided they were too evil to mention. Happily, I only remember one book with them. (well, I remember reading one book with them - don't know what it was)
