12:58 pm - the king of spain never rushes!
yay catching up on the past week or so..

on friday i went down to kingston to see jess. her house is freakin big, and she has a moat! i wish i had a moat. they should put alligators in it. anyway, matt came too - we went to subway for dinner, where we met this guy who told us about roaches in market basket bananas and how they almost infested his house. but yeah, i had a lot of fun. she always puts me in a good mood
after that, it was time for colton's graduation party. after driving around and being confused for awhle (not my fault for once! the directions were wrong), i found it. the street on the way to his house is so kickass, it's like driving on a rollercoaster. so twisty and up-and-down and crazy, i loved it. the party was mostly fencing kids, with a few locals showing up for awhile. we heckled a tape of his valedictorian speech, told bad jokes, sang moulin rouge and veggie tales songs (with jess [a different jess now. i know like 5 of em] accompanying on piano), and had merriment. we played munchkin, whcih is a super fun silly card game. i wasn't very good at it but i was having fun screwing everyone else over (which is the real point of the game, beyond just winning)

saturday was yardsale mark 1. so many crazy yardsale people showed up. one guy tried to buy my dad's rock collection. they're ROCKS. from THE BEACH. why would you want to buy them?? anyway though, crazy people bought all our stuff and bartered for things we were charging like a quarter for already. it was kind of demoralizing, seeing how little the stuff we spent years accumulating is worth to people, but it was fun too. my dad was having a good time being a salesman, my mom was having a stressful time showing the furniture to people. after that was linnae's graduation party. it was lennie, jim, colton, her friend, her friend's scary boyfriend, her parents, and her neighbors. then linnae and jim left to go dancing in boston, so me and colton spent the rest of the night hanging out with a bunch of old peole we didn't know. it was fun though. her mom kept making me eat, she has a serious hostess complex. not that i minded, you understand
sunday: yardsale mark 2. to get rid of everything, we had a sale. all things but furniture and the snowblower were a quarter. around 3 or so, this changed to everything is free. it's funny how many things selling for a quarter that no one wanted disapeared after being free for an hour. is that such a huge price jump? but yeah. then we went to dinner for fathers day. renny shaved his head like a week ago and looks odd. i'm used to him having a big flomp of hair sitting on his head, and a fuzzy beard. now he's all aerodynamic again. stopped at lyzi's for an hour, then came back

on monday, i drive back home yet again for my cousins to pick me up. they show up, but when it's time to go the car won't start. there was still a little gas in the car, but since my street is a pick hill it was all pooled in the front or something. so i drove them to cumbys and we got a gas canister thingy and came back. then we stopped for dinner. then one of the bikes on the bike rack almost went flying off on the highway. it was quite a fun trip. by the time we got there (burlington VT) it was around 10. so everyone else went to bed, and i - being a fool - read[1] and watched tv[2] until about 4am. did i mention we were leaving at 10am?
10am, we go to spencer and karen's house. you see, 8 days prior, my cousin colby was born. and by jewish tradition, on the 8th day the male is in for a treat. as my aunt put it, "it's a great day for a circumcision!" welcoem to this world, colby. hopefully that's the worst thing that happens to you. so he had his bris, during which i and about 2/3s of the people there left the room, then there was a nice party. the guest of honor slept through it, which i suppose is better than being awake right then. it was nice to see cousins and aunt and uncle and such people

[1] the illuminatus! trilogy which i am going to freaking finish this time. i started it last summer, got about 200 pages in, then never looked at it during school and totally lost track of what was going on. so i'm starting from the beginning now. it actually makes a lot more sense (relatively speaking) the 2nd time through
[2] super troopers, which was charming and good natured and occasionally funny, and freddy got fingered, which still has me baffled. have any of you seen this? what did you make of it?

got back around 7ish. went to the barley pub with vince and shannon for bluegrass night. some random dude bought them and some other guy a beer for no apparent reason. he got everyone standing there but me a beer, which was irritating but kinda funny. the bluegrass band thing (i guess most of them were a band, but anyone who wants to get up and play along was welcome to, if they had an instrument with them. a few people went up as the night wore on). there are some freaking talented people there. it was a good time

okay so i havent read much lj lately. i'm still keeping up on a few people, but not really commenting (though i still respond to what's said to me). so yeah. if something demands my attention, let me know or i may not see it

kevin (12:51:57 AM): you should go LARPing with jon, brian paul, and i
King Nixon (12:54:22 AM): ooh, my nerdism will be complete

i may do this, i dunno yet. mythical journeys. that's the one you did, isnt it mel?

never NEVER accidentaly chew a zoloft. oh my crap i'd rather eat monkeypox.

sounds like good times.

yes, moats rule. i wish i could have a moat surrounding me at all times. maybe like one of those inner tubes that little kids wear. although carrying all that water around might be rather heavy and possibly look silly. but still, i can dream.

super troopers was ok. i only liked freddy got fingered after i saw it for the second time. the first time i saw it i thought it was terrible. then i rented the dvd and gave it a second shot. i guess it grossed me out a little the first time i saw it, but after i got over that, i think it's a really good and funny movie.

i can only imagine what a zoloft would taste like. i can't take regular aspirin at all. if i taste it, i gag. i can only take ibuprofen, preferably advil because it tastes like sweet sweet candy.
