i had a funny dream last night. i was living with all the manch kids. the new cool thing for us to do was snort crack. this cop came to bust us and me and godbout escaped. we went to this thai restaurant and the waiter thought we were someone else and brought us a plate of stirfried rats. ben ate one and i declined. then that cop showed up again and we ran away and i don't remember what happened. it was crazy though; before the cop showed up, our crack party was kickass. we were playing video games and eating all these huge subs and running around in a big field with a swingset in it

yo homie, don't be hate'n on the telemarketers.
sorry, you guys suck. i know, i used to be one of you
way to puts tons of people out of jobs. just hang up the phone, it won't kill you.
if there were no more criminals, cops would be out of a job too.
that analogy was really stupid.
comparing criminals to telemarketers was also stupid and made no sense.
just because the president got a bug up his ass to actually do something the majority of the people think is a good idea, and because ppl are too fuckin lazy to just HANG UP THE PHONE if they don't want to hear it, i don't think thousands of people should be let off of work.
besides, it's hypocritical because you were once a telemarketer (i think?).
and, i bet there still would be cops if there were no criminals. probably less, yes, but still. it doesn't matter, cause that makes no sense with what the subject at hand even was.
i wasn't comparing criminals and telemarketers. my point was that putting people out of a job by itself isn't enough to dismiss something as bad. maybe people are too lazy to hang up the phone, but do you know what happens when you hang up on a telemarketer? they call back. if you want them to stop calling, you have to tell them so. this is just a way to tell lots of them at once. i should have the ability to tell people to stop calling me if i don't want them to. it's an opt-in process, so plenty of people will still be getting calls if they think like you, just don't bother, or don't know about it. telemarketers won't be out of a job, just that the market will be smaller. and it's not hypocritical- when i took the job, i knew i was being hired to bother people and therefore i expected people to be bothered. if someone is surprised that people would prefer to not be called with a sales pitch, they are obviously not qualified.
i have never once had a telemarketer call my house back after i or anyone in my family hung up on them.
then you've been very lucky
