i'm wondering what you think is so needlessly fancy and hightech about school...? not because i don't believe you, but because i want to know what specifically you think is the culprit...

i should have mentioned in the post, but i was specifically talkin about higher ed. universities seem to love blowing huge piles of money on unneeded improvements to make them look more advanced and exciting

i don't know... my department is not like that, but the business school here is. the anthro dept has like weird leaky stuff and super old uncomfortable things. it seems like a lot of the money spent here is either on sports or just trying to keep the old buildings from falling down.
